Brown mistral rice. Brown rice Method for cooking brown rice

Cereals are very important for good nutrition. Porridges and side dishes are generally very healthy dishes.
Everyone probably knows the manufacturer Mistral; he offers us an excellent and high-quality product, proven over the years. My husband bought brown rice, long grain Indica brown from this company.
The packaging of this rice is ordinary, polyethylene, I really liked the unique barcode, it was originally designed in the form of cereals. The rest is all quite usual, the packaging is closed in a special place with a sticky layer.
There is nothing special about cooking this rice, although there are instructions on the package, but perhaps it is for those who have never cooked rice before, because the process is no different from cooking any other rice. Personally, I looked at these instructions only when I sat down to write a review; I cooked rice calmly without it.
I will describe the cooking process in simple words, for those who do not know. Just fill the rice with water, this rice is clean, you don’t need to sort it out and wash it, as I remember fiddling around with for hours as a child. Then we put the pan with rice and water on the stove and cook, the fire should be kept low so that the rice cooks and not the water boils away. Half an hour and the product is ready, taking into account the fact that it infused for another five minutes and swelled a little. Just watch the condition all the time and stir so as not to overcook. Everything is very easy, there are never any difficulties.
I repeat once again that this rice is pure, it is directly selected, one grain after another. Very beautiful in appearance. There is no shame in putting it on a dish, it turns out crumbly.
I’ve tried to cook everything from this rice, I’ve made risotto, pilaf, rice casserole, and much more, everything turns out just perfect, not to mention the fact that you can just boil it. Yes, by the way, I also cooked it in a double boiler, it also turned out great, I seasoned it with my favorite seasoning, chili pepper, an excellent dish.
If I have a question in my store about buying Mistral rice or some other brand, then I will definitely choose Mistral.
I highly recommend this high-quality, selected and very tasty rice.

From the administration of the Diamart store: In order to check how gently this type of rice was polished, we tried to germinate it. The result is in the photo. Germination rate is almost 100% (the only exception is crushed grains). This shows that the embryo does not “suffer” during grinding and remains alive.

Hello everybody!

I get hooked on brown (brown) rice from time to time. For me, this is an ideal option for cleansing the body. And the point is not even that, although this is important, brown rice, thanks to its shell, has retained all the beneficial substances. And the fact is that this is the only type of rice that I can eat without salt, sugar, oil - without everything. Just boiled rice.

If I have to go on an emergency diet and cleanse my body, I always use

Indica Brown from Mistral.

A salt-free diet on brown rice allows me to dry out well and improve the functioning of my gastrointestinal tract.

Packaging "Mistral"

The packaging is in the traditional Mistral form, with an image of a woman in the traditional costume of the product being presented.

Price per package 110 rubles / 1 kg.

I decided to compare prices to see how much more expensive Mistral is than other companies. It turned out that in the same price category as “National” 98 rubles - 800 grams and a little more expensive than “Agro Alliance” (Packaging 800 grams in “Magnit” - 85 rubles.)

On the reverse side it is indicated, very conveniently, the cooking time.

In this case, this is rice of the average category in terms of cooking time - 25 minutes.

The grains themselves are very beautiful and neat. No spoiled or rotten ones. There was no desire to even sort through them, they turned out to be so clean.

Preparation:

Important! Always maintain the correct water to grain ratio. In this case, 1 to 2.

When cooked, the rice does not stick together, the grain opens a little, acquiring a pleasant nutty smell.

I cook with the lid tightly closed, turn it off and leave it to simmer. The aroma is excellent. It is this moment - letting the rice stand that makes it the most delicious and less coarse grain.

Taste

very different from other varieties of rice. Some people find it unpleasant and seem very specific. I’m in love with this taste that the grain shell gives.

This is exactly the moment when the tasty combined with the healthy.

Useful qualities of brown rice:

Brown rice saturates the body with vitamins E, group B (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6), PP, micro- and macroelements (calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, iodine, phosphorus, copper), amino acids. It contains vegetable fats and carbohydrates, which to some extent reduces the body's need for sweets. This cereal is also rich in fiber, which is necessary for the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.

But no one can live on any diet or beneficial properties.

White round grain rice “Italica”

This type of medium grain rice is native to Italy and has a shorter, wider grain and a softer texture than long grain rice. It is a variety with a very high starch content, so during the cooking process, Italica grains stick together and the finished dishes acquire an attractive creamy appearance. We recommend this type of rice to those who like soft rice. To make the finished rice even softer, soak it for 20-25 minutes before cooking. When this rice is cooked, its grains are imbued with the taste and aroma of other ingredients in the dish. Thanks to this property, Italica rice is used to prepare a variety of cereals, puddings, casseroles, various desserts and pilaf.

Long grain white rice "Indica"

White long grain Indica rice is the most popular variety of rice. The grains of this rice absorb a moderate amount of liquid when cooked, retain their shape and do not stick together. These properties give the finished dish a refined, appetizing appearance. Indica is a versatile rice variety. It is used in the preparation of European and Oriental dishes, salads, and simply as a side dish for any dish of meat, poultry, fish and vegetables. To always have a side dish on hand, cooked rice can be stored in the refrigerator for one week, and in the freezer for up to six months.

Long grain brown rice “Indica Brown”

Brown rice is minimally processed rice. Thanks to the gentle grinding of grains, Indica Brown rice preserves the bran shell and germ of the grain, as well as all the nutrients and vitamins that nature generously endowed this rice with. The bran shell gives the grains a characteristic brownish tint and a nutty flavor. Brown rice is extremely beneficial for the human body and is highly valued by nutritionists and health food lovers. During the cooking process, you can use broth or add dry spices to add a piquant taste.

Steamed long grain rice “Indica Gold”

Indica Gold Parboiled Long Grain Rice has an unusual amber grain color due to steaming before polishing. This process helps preserve the beneficial substances that are transferred to the rice grain during processing and reduce the number of broken grains. After cooking, the grains of parboiled rice take on a normal white color and never stick together. Indica Gold rice remains as tasty and fluffy even after reheating the dish.

White aromatic rice “Jasmine”

This special variety of aromatic rice is grown in the high plateaus of Thailand and is called Jasmine rice for its resemblance to the delicate flowers. Since ancient times, it has been revered for its unique color and delicate, almost milky aroma. When cooked, Jasmine rice grains stick together a little but retain their ideal shape and acquire a dazzling white color. During the cooking process, you can add saffron or lemon juice for taste.

White medium grain rice "Arborio"

Arborio is one of the best varieties of Italian medium grain rice and has large translucent grains with a characteristic white core. Very soft Arborio rice acquires a creamy consistency when cooked and is easily cooked. Therefore, experts recommend removing the dish from the heat until the rice is completely cooked - then after a few minutes the rice will cook on its own, but the grains will retain their shape. Arborio is valued for its ability to perfectly absorb the taste and aroma of other components of the dish, which makes it ideal for preparing classic Italian risotto, paella, pilaf and soups.

White medium grain rice "Japonica"

Rice is part of the culture and the main component of the Japanese diet. White as snow and very sticky, Japonica rice is a component of most national Japanese dishes. When cooked, the nearly opaque, round grain of this rice variety absorbs large amounts of liquid, becoming sticky but retaining its shape. Having these qualities, Japonica rice is most suitable for making sushi and rolls, traditional Japanese steamed rice, as well as desserts and casseroles.

White aromatic rice "Basmati"

Basmati rice is grown in the mountainous regions of the Himalayas. It is believed that this long-grain white rice owes its unique exquisite taste and pleasant aroma to the special soil, climatic conditions and even the air of this region. Its grains are longer and thinner than regular long-grain rice, and when cooked, they elongate even more, remaining almost unchanged in width. The word "basmati" means "fragrant" in Hindi. Throughout the world, Basmati is deservedly recognized as the King of Rice.
