Lasagna is a very hearty and tasty dish that came to us from Italian cuisine. Many housewives would like to learn how to cook it, but real, classic lasagna will require a lot of time and skill. We suggest you use a little trick and replace the lasagna sheets with thin pita bread. And the choice of filling depends on your taste and imagination.

Thin Lavash Lasagna Recipes

The main components of the dish are lasagne sheets (in our case, thin Armenian lavash will play their role), sauce and filling, which will include minced meat, meat, mushrooms, cottage cheese and much more. Even vegetarians will find a recipe to their liking. And if it’s easiest to buy lavash in a store, then we’ll prepare the sauce and filling ourselves.

Classic lasagna

This kind of lasagna, despite the use of pita bread, is as simple as possible, and you don’t have to stand at the stove all day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of pita bread;
  • 1 kg minced meat;
  • 1–2 tomatoes;
  • 1 medium sized carrot;
  • 2 medium onions;
  • 2–3 cloves of garlic;
  • 100 g butter;
  • 300 g hard cheese;
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese;
  • 1 liter of milk;
  • 100 g flour.
  1. Remove the skins from the tomatoes. Grind them into puree using a blender.
  2. Chop the onion and garlic as finely as possible and fry in vegetable oil. Add grated carrots and continue frying until done.
  3. Add the minced meat to the frying, stir, add salt, add spices and seasonings to taste, cover with a lid and simmer for 25 minutes. After this, add the tomato pulp and fry for 5 minutes over low heat.
  4. For the sauce, melt the butter in a bowl and gradually add the flour. Stir and saute the mixture. Pour in a liter of milk, bring to a boil and maintain the temperature until the sauce reaches the consistency of sour cream. Season with salt and add a little grated garlic.
  5. Grate the cheese. Place pita bread, meat filling, sauce and cheese on a high-sided baking sheet, alternating several times. Sprinkle the top sheet of lavash with cheese, previously shredded on a grater.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, place the lasagna pan in it and bake for 45 minutes.

One of the main ingredients of classic lasagna is bechamel sauce.

To make the dish more attractive, after cooking, remove it from the oven, sprinkle with grated Parmesan and bake for another 10 minutes. Cool the lasagna before serving to prevent it from losing its shape.

“Lazy” version with minced meat

This recipe is great for those who don’t have enough time at home for culinary delights. We will do without Bolognese sauce, which is traditionally used in lasagna, leaving only minced meat, cheese and bechamel. Minced meat can be made from any lean meat, such as chicken.

For this quick lasagna you will need:

  • 1 package of pita bread;
  • 500 g minced meat;
  • 200 g cheese;
  • 1 onion bulb;
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for frying.

This recipe makes 6 servings. Preparation will take you 40 minutes.

For the sauce, take the following ingredients:

  • 380 ml milk;
  • 150 g butter;
  • 3 heaped tablespoons of flour;
  • 2 teaspoons sugar;
  • 1 teaspoon salt.

Note! If you make the minced meat yourself, pass the chicken breast through a fine grinder. Buying ready-made minced meat in a store will save you some more time.

The peculiarity of lazy lasagna is that its preparation does not take much time.

  1. Peel and finely chop the onion. Add it to a heated frying pan with oil and fry until golden brown, stirring all the time.
  2. Add the minced meat to the onion and fry until half cooked (until it is no longer pink). Season with salt and pepper and remove the pan from the heat. The filling is ready.
  3. Prepare the sauce. To do this, melt the butter in a deep frying pan or saucepan. Add flour to it, sauté until golden brown.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Add sugar and salt. Cook the sauce over low heat until it thickens. Don't forget to stir it.
  5. Start assembling the lasagna. Take a suitable shape and cut the pita bread according to its size. Place one sheet on the bottom, spread some of the minced meat filling over it. The next layer is a little sauce, then grated cheese. Cover with a second sheet of pita bread and press lightly.
  6. Repeat alternating layers several times until you run out of filling. Sprinkle the last sheet of lavash with grated cheese.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees without top heat. If your device does not have such a function, then the lasagna pan should be covered with foil. It will take 25 minutes to bake. Lazy lasagna is ready!

Roll “A la lasagne” with mushrooms and chicken

This is a recipe for a slightly unusual lasagna in the form of a roll. Thin pita bread is more convenient for this shape than traditional lasagne sheets. For the lasagna roll you will need:

  1. Cut the products: onions into half rings, tomatoes, after removing the skin, into thin slices, chicken meat into small pieces. Add salt and spices to the meat.

    Finely chop the onions, tomatoes and meat

  2. In one pan, fry 2/3 of the entire onion until half cooked. Add herbs, tomatoes, salt, seasonings, and leave to simmer.

    Fry and steam vegetables

  3. Fry the chicken in a second frying pan until half cooked, adding the remaining onion.

    Fry meat with onions

  4. Drain the broth from the tomato filling into another bowl. You will need it at the end of cooking.
  5. Make bechamel sauce. In a bowl with high walls, melt the butter, sauté the flour in it, stirring constantly. Pour in milk, season with salt and spices, cook until thick.

    Prepare bechamel sauce for lasagna

  6. Now that everything is prepared, you can start assembling the lasagna. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and lay out the pita bread. Spread some sauce on the surface.

    The first layer of filling on lavash

  7. Evenly spread half of the filling, 1/2 of the fried chicken meat, cover with the second pita bread.
  8. Repeat the procedure with the filling, only now place the mushrooms on one edge. It is advisable to fry them before, but you can use marinated ones. Sprinkle cheese on top and add a little sauce.

    Second layer of mushroom filling

  9. Very carefully roll the lasagna into a log. Spread sauce on top. Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, bake for 10 minutes.

    Roll up the roll

  10. Remove the baking sheet with lasagne, pour the vegetable broth left over from the vegetable filling on top, and return to the oven for 10 minutes.

In terms of its taste, lavash lasagna is practically no different from the original dish, which uses special sheets prepared independently or purchased in a store.

Today we will present you two options on how to make simple but tasty and juicy lasagna at home.

Lasagna with lavash: step-by-step recipe for preparing a delicious dish

You can make this dish using different products. However, one thing remains unchanged about it. This is minced meat. It can be made using beef, pork, chicken breasts or mixing all meat products together.

So, pita lasagna requires the purchase of the following components:

Preparing mixed minced meat

To make the lavash lasagna delicious, we decided to use mixed minced meat. To prepare it, carefully wash pieces of lean pork and veal, and then pass them through a meat grinder with chopped onions. Add salt and pepper to the resulting minced meat and mix thoroughly with your hands.

Making meat bolognese sauce

Any pita lasagna requires the use of delicious and aromatic Bolognese sauce. To prepare it, place freshly twisted minced meat in a saucepan, season it with vegetable fat and fry over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Fleshy tomatoes crushed into a pulp and heavy cream are added to the browned meat. In this form, the product is simmered under the lid for about 7 minutes, after which it is removed from the stove and cooled.

Making creamy béchamel sauce

Lasagna with pita bread, the recipe for which we are considering, can be prepared without bechamel sauce. But to get a more tasty and high-calorie dish, we decided to use it. To prepare it, melt the cooking fat in a clean frying pan, add light flour to it, mix and fry for about 5 minutes. Carefully pour in the fat milk into the resulting mass, and add Italian herbs, pepper and salt. All ingredients are mixed and cooked for several minutes.

Preparing the Components

In order for you to get a tasty and juicy homemade lavash lasagna, it should be properly shaped and heat treated. To do this, hard cheese is grated. Bolognese and bechamel sauces are also divided into three equal parts.

Formation process

Lavash lasagna with minced meat should be prepared in a large and deep baking dish. Its bottom is greased with creamy sauce, and then one pita bread is laid out. Place ½ of the minced meat on the product and sprinkle generously with cheese. The second pita bread is greased with creamy sauce and put back into the bowl. It is similarly topped with bolognese and cheese. These steps should be repeated until all the ingredients are gone.

At the end, the entire dish is doused with the rest of the bechamel sauce and covered with a thick “carpet” of cheese.

Heat treatment

The formed lasagna from pita bread with minced meat is immediately placed in the oven. Bake it at 210 degrees for half an hour. During this time, the dish sets, becomes juicy and rosy.

Serve it right at the table

After heat treatment of the lasagne, remove it from the oven and cool slightly right in the pan. Before serving, the product is cut into small pieces, split into plates and distributed to guests. In addition to this dish, sweet and hot tea is served.

Lazy lasagna: recipe with pita bread

Despite the fact that ready-made lavash sheets are used to prepare lazy lasagna, it takes a relatively long time to make. In this regard, we decided to present you with an even quicker recipe, which is good to use if you do not have time to prepare the original dish.

So what ingredients are needed to make a delicious and satisfying lazy lasagna? The recipe with pita bread involves the use of the following components:

  • ready-made minced chicken purchased in a store - 500 g;
  • onions - 2 heads;
  • natural tomato paste without dyes - 3 large spoons;
  • heavy cream - about 200 ml;
  • sea salt - use to taste;
  • ground black pepper - use to taste;
  • “Italian herbs” spice mixtures – add to taste;
  • high fat butter - 4 large spoons;
  • light wheat flour - 1 dessert spoon;
  • hard cheese - about 500 g;
  • thin Armenian lavash - 4 pcs.

Making quick meat sauce

As a rule, to prepare homemade lasagna, bechamel sauce and bolognese are prepared separately. But if you want to make such a dish in the shortest possible time, then we suggest combining them together. To do this, melt the butter in a saucepan, and then add ready-made minced chicken and chopped onions to it. Season the products with salt and pepper and fry them until golden brown. After 13-14 minutes, add wheat flour to the meat and cook for a few more seconds. After this, add heavy cream and tomato paste to the saucepan.

After mixing all the products, they are simmered under the lid for 9 minutes, after which they are flavored with Italian herbs, removed from the stove and cooled.

How to properly form lazy lasagna?

Lazy lavash lasagna, a photo of which is presented in this article, is formed in a matter of minutes. To do this, generously grease a deep baking dish with vegetable or butter, and then cover it with one sheet of lavash. In turn, 1/3 of the previously prepared meat sauce is placed on the Armenian product, which is sprinkled with grated cheese. Subsequently, the described procedure is repeated 3 more times.

Finally, the lasagna is covered with the remaining minced meat and cheese.

How is it baked?

After forming the lasagna, it is placed in a preheated oven and cooked at 230 degrees for 20 minutes. This time is enough for the dish to set and the cheese to completely melt and spread.

Serve delicious lazy lasagna for lunch

After baking, the lazy lasagna must be removed and cooled slightly in the pan. In the future, it should be cut into pieces and placed on plates using a wide spatula. It is recommended to eat a dish of minced meat and pita bread with a fork and knife, washed down with some sweet drink. Bon appetit!

  1. Twisted minced beef and pork is fried in a frying pan with finely chopped onion until half cooked. We do this so that no lumps form. Salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Prepare tomato sauce: for this, take tomatoes cut in half. They are grated, first remove the skin by pouring boiling water over them. You can grate with seeds, or without. Add garlic to the tomato mixture and place on the stove over low heat. Boil the sauce for half an hour.
  3. To prepare bechamel sauce, you need to fry the wheat flour until it turns golden. Then cook at minimum temperature, add a piece of butter, stir vigorously so that no lumps appear. Pour in the milk and whisk the sauce. We grate the hard cheese and cut the mozzarella thinly. Lavash sheets are cut according to the shape in which we will prepare lasagna. This is done with a knife or sharp scissors.
  4. Before laying out the pita bread, grease the mold with butter. We form the lasagna in this order: pita bread, a third of the tomato sauce, a third of the minced meat. Distribute the sauces and minced meat over a sheet of lavash. Pour bechamel sauce over it.
  5. Lay out another sheet of pita bread, then tomato sauce, then minced meat again. The third time we repeat everything in the same way, finishing everything with lavash. After a sheet of lavash, coat it with tomato sauce and lay out the cheese. We put our lasagna to bake, where it will remain for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees, covered with foil, and then bake for another 20 minutes without foil. This dish is served with vegetables or vegetable salad.
  6. Prepare delicious lasagna from pita bread with minced meat at home and please your family with a delicious second course. This lasagna is also called lazy lasagna.

Have a nice day and bon appetit!

Lasagna with pita bread at home

Recipe ingredients:

  • Thin Armenian lavash – 4 sheets
  • Meat (any variety) – 700 g
  • Tomatoes – 2 pieces
  • Onions – 1 piece
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Eggs – 1 piece
  • Cheese – 200 g
  • Sour cream – 400 ml
  • Tomato paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • Any herbs and spices - to taste

How to prepare the dish at home:

  1. Peel the onions and garlic, rinse and finely chop. Wash the tomato and cut into medium slices.
  2. Wash the meat (in my case pork), dry it with a paper towel and cut it into small pieces. You can also twist it through a meat grinder by installing a grid with large holes.
  3. Heat a frying pan with oil and add the meat. Over high heat, quickly fry it for about 3 minutes until it is covered with a golden brown crust, which will retain its juiciness.
  4. Add the onion to the pan, stir and fry over moderate heat for about 7-10 minutes.
  5. Then add tomato paste, tomatoes, garlic, herbs, salt, pepper and spices.
  6. Stir and simmer the ingredients over low heat under a closed lid for 5 minutes. The lasagna filling is ready.
  7. Now let's prepare the sour cream sauce. Pour sour cream into another clean and dry frying pan and add salt and spices.
  8. Beat in an egg and add 50 grams of cheese grated on a medium grater. Stir and heat over medium heat.
  9. Choose a suitable dish for baking lasagna; I use a round heat-resistant glass baking dish. Place the pita bread in it, cutting it to the desired size.
  10. Place the meat in the pan, spreading it over the entire area.
  11. Lubricate the meat with sour cream sauce and sprinkle with a little grated cheese.
  12. We will continue to layer all the pita breads with minced meat, sauce and cheese shavings, filling the entire form. Let the food stand for 10-15 minutes so that the layers of pita bread are well saturated with the sauce, otherwise it will become dry and brittle in the oven.
  13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the dish for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  14. Serve the finished lavash lasagna hot, garnished with herbs. If you wish, you can top it with your favorite sauce.

Bon appetit!

Lasagna with pita bread

To make pita lasagna you will need:

  • chicken meat (fillet) – 500 g
  • mushrooms (champignons) – 300 g
  • onions – 3 pcs.
  • tomatoes – 5-8 pcs.
  • thin Armenian lavash – 2-3 sheets
  • salt and ground black pepper - to taste
  • hard cheese – 300 g
  • for the sauce:
  • butter – 100 g
  • flour - 4 tbsp.
  • milk – 1 l

Method for preparing lasagna from pita bread:

  1. So, we start by peeling the onions and then cutting them into half rings. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and cut them into small slices. Then heat a little vegetable (olive) oil in a frying pan and fry the chopped onion in it (until soft and golden), then add the tomatoes. Fry everything together for another 3 minutes and transfer the vegetables to a separate plate.
  2. Now rinse the meat under cold water, cut it into small pieces and add salt to them. Fry the chicken in the same frying pan with the addition of vegetable (olive) oil until cooked (salt, add black pepper and other favorite spices if desired). Place the finished chicken in a separate bowl.
  3. We thoroughly wash the champignons (although you can also use other mushrooms) under running water and chop them finely. Fry them in a frying pan with a small amount of oil. Don't forget to salt and pepper them. Cook until the mushrooms are nicely browned and all the liquid has evaporated.
  4. Now let's start preparing the sauce. So, melt the butter in a small saucepan, and then add flour to it in small portions and mix everything well (do this over low heat until a pleasant “nutty” smell appears). Then pour the milk into the saucepan in a thin stream and mix everything very quickly (so that there are no lumps). Add salt, pepper to taste and other spices. Cook the sauce over low heat until it thickens to the consistency of thick sour cream.
  5. It should be noted that nutmeg is also added to classic bechamel (at the tip of the knife). And the milk, before pouring into the flour, is first boiled, and then set to cool along with a bay leaf (under the lid).
  6. After this, we grease the form in which we will prepare the lasagna with vegetable oil and cover it with the first sheet of fresh Armenian lavash. We grease it with the prepared sauce, and on top we put half of the fried vegetables, half of the chicken, cover it with mushrooms and cover everything with grated cheese.
  7. Next, cover the second sheet of pita bread, well, and repeat the procedure of laying out the filling (sauce, vegetables, then chicken, mushrooms and grated cheese). We repeat the layers of lavash and filling several more times (3-5, depending on the amount of filling and lavash sheets).
  8. The last layer should be a sheet of pita bread, which we grease with the rest of the sauce and sprinkle generously with grated cheese.
  9. Place the lasagna in a preheated oven (up to 170-190 degrees) for about 15-20 minutes.
  10. We take the finished pita lasagna out of the oven, let it cool slightly, and then cut it into portions. Serve the dish hot.

Bon Appetit everyone!

  • 1-2 onions;
  • 300 gr. beef;
  • 300 gr. lean pork;
  • 100 gr. hard cheese;
  • 2-4 tomatoes;
  • 2 garlic cloves;
  • A little vegetable oil;
  • 1-1.5 tsp. spicy herbs.
  • For the sauce:
  • 600 ml milk;
  • 1.5 tbsp. butter;
  • 1.5 tbsp. wheat flour;
  • 1 pinch of chopped nutmeg;
  • A little salt.

Preparation:

You can easily prepare delicious, juicy lasagna using Armenian lavash instead of dough.

  1. For minced meat, wash the meat, dry it, cut it into random pieces into several pieces.
  2. To prepare lasagna, it is better to use homemade minced meat rather than store-bought minced meat.
  3. Sprinkle the prepared ingredients with herbs and grind in a meat grinder.
  4. Wash the tomatoes, scald them with boiling water, and put them in ice water for a few seconds. Remove the skin and cut the pulp into medium pieces.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil, put the tomato pieces there, and simmer until soft.
  6. Then add the minced meat to the tomatoes, stir, simmer until the meat is cooked.
  7. Meanwhile, start preparing the bechamel sauce. To do this, melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat and add flour. Stir everything thoroughly until a homogeneous viscous composition is obtained. Then pour in the heated milk little by little, carefully stirring the bechamel with a whisk each time. Boil the bechamel until thick, stirring all the time to prevent lumps from forming. At the end, season the sauce with nutmeg and salt.
  8. Three hard cheeses on a fine grater. For a richer flavor, you can use two types of cheese, such as Gouda and Parmesan.
  9. Now let's start assembling the lasagna. Grease the mold with butter, place a large sheet of pita bread on the bottom so that it hangs over the edges.
  10. To prevent the lasagna from falling apart when cutting and serving, it is better to make a double bottom, spreading sauce between the layers.
  11. Place the filling in layers: fried minced meat, sauce and cheese.
  12. Cover each layer of filling with a piece of pita bread, cut strictly to the size of the mold. There must be at least three layers.
  13. We wrap the hanging edges of the large pita bread inside and pour the remaining sauce over everything. To level the top of the dish, place another sheet of pita bread, cut to size, on top of the folded edges. Lubricate everything with bechamel and generously sprinkle with cheese.
  14. Place everything in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
  15. Take the browned lasagna out of the oven, cut into portions, and serve as a main hot dish.

Delicious lazy lasagna with homemade minced pita bread

Ingredients needed to prepare the dish:

  • Armenian lavash - 1 package;
  • homemade minced meat - 500 grams;
  • fresh tomatoes - 250 grams;
  • onion - 1 large onion;
  • hard cheese - 150 grams;
  • milk - 500 milliliters;
  • wheat flour - 1 tablespoon;
  • butter;
  • salt.

As you can see, the products are so simple that they don’t even require much description or explanation. Everyone already knows Armenian lavash. And everyone loves this thin flatbread. Homemade minced meat is a combination of pork and beef. The percentage is up to your taste. In general, you can use either minced pork or ground beef. You choose the cheese to your taste, you can also use Parmesan. Its salty, rich flavor is also great here. There is nothing more to say about this. Let's start cooking!

The first stage of preparation is to prepare the meat filling.

  1. There will be no complex Bolognese with all its spices and additives. You can, of course, add a little basil or rosemary, or you can season the minced meat with paprika. Or any other seasonings you have at home. This matter is so subtle that it is felt only on a subconscious level. Don't overdo it.
  2. The simplest option, which we will use, is to fry the minced meat. Pour the minced meat into a heated frying pan with oil. Now, stirring periodically, wait for the color to change. At the very end you can season with salt. There is no need to fry everything until completely cooked; we still need to bake it later. Place the minced meat with all its juices in a separate bowl.

The second stage of preparation is preparing the vegetable filling.

  1. Ours will consist only of tomatoes and onions. But if you have something else at home, for example, zucchini, then you can add that too. All vegetables need to be cut into small cubes, which should not differ much from each other. In any case, the tomatoes will soften and stop holding their shape.
  2. First, add the onion to the same frying pan and saute it until transparent. Next come the tomatoes. Stir all this well and simmer for about ten minutes until the tomatoes are completely soft. Of course, if you add other vegetables, they come before the tomatoes. And you need to fry them for a short time, stirring constantly. We also transfer the final filling mass into a separate bowl.

The third stage of preparation is preparing the sauce.

  1. Even though this is a recipe for lazy lasagna, you can’t do without a sauce a la béchamel. Our version differs from the original bechamel recipe by the absence of nutmeg and the replacement of cream with milk. Otherwise, the preparation is not very different.
  2. As always, the first step is to fry the flour to get rid of its smell. Fry in butter until slightly golden. You will definitely end up with lumps. So these flour lumps need to be poured with milk and dissolved in it. It is best to do this with a whisk. Just turn down the heat, pour in the milk and stand there, stirring everything with a whisk.
  3. Next, you need to cool the sauce until it thickens. Simply remove the pan from the stove. It will be even better if you pour it into a separate bowl.

The fourth stage of preparation is to assemble and bake the lasagna.

  1. There are still unprepared products left in our recipe. This is the cheese that needs to be grated. And also pita bread, which must be cut into pieces suitable for the shape. By the way, when choosing a shape, keep in mind that we need fairly high sides.
  2. Now you can assemble our lazy lasagna. Lavash goes to the bottom, then a thin layer of minced meat, then again lavash, followed by vegetable filling, again lavash and so on until the end. The number of layers depends on the size of your mold. Top everything completely with sauce a la Bechamel, then sprinkle tightly with grated cheese. In an oven heated to 180 degrees, the dish will sit for about half an hour.
  3. That's all, the recipe for lazy lasagna with minced meat and pita bread ends. This is a great option for the home when guests come unexpectedly or you’re just looking for something tasty, but you don’t want to go to the store. Try it and share with friends. Bon appetit!
