The peculiarity of Thai cuisine is the absence of prohibitions on various ingredients. The most important thing is that they are of high quality. Thai dishes combine sweet and sour flavors with a backdrop of hot spices. Make sure of this by cooking Thai meat with vegetables. The recipe is simple, you just need to stick to the technology. We'll talk about this today.

Thai meat: recipe

To make Thai meat tasty and satisfying, remember the basic principles of cooking:

  • Use thick-walled wok pans.
  • Cook over high heat.
  • Cut the meat in a certain way.

This is a feature of the national cuisine of Thailand. In a wide, deep frying pan, they cook meat recipes and even fry grasshoppers. Such dishes do not allow food to burn over high heat. At the same time, food cooks faster, and the ingredients do not lose their beneficial properties.

Unfortunately, not everyone has a wok frying pan, and buying one just to cook meat in Thai style is too expensive. A saucepan or a small cauldron will help you get out of this situation. The main thing is that the walls of the dishes are thick enough and do not have deep scratches. Otherwise, the ingredients will burn instantly.

For Thai meat to be considered as such, it must be cut into thin oblong pieces. The time it takes to fry depends on three factors: the thickness of the cut, the type of meat and the marinade (if provided).

On average, they spend 10–20 minutes on beef; the chicken will cook in 5-10 minutes. It is acceptable to use lamb, which is cooked for 15 to 20 minutes. Thai meat is served with a side dish. White or brown, or noodles are suitable for this purpose.

Note: use only fresh meat. Frozen semi-finished products take a long time to prepare, and they taste like rubber.

To add piquancy and pungency to the taste, Thais are not used to limiting themselves in spices. Black and red pepper, chopped ginger, curry, chili, soy sauce and others are used.

How to cook Thai meat with vegetables

How to cook meat in Thai? Desire is necessary, but it alone is not enough. We can't do without ingredients and preparation. So, you will need:

  • Chicken fillet - 500 g
  • Tomatoes - 4 pcs.
  • Onions - one onion
  • Bell pepper - 4 pcs.
  • Dill and tarragon - one bunch each
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Soy sauce - 100 g
  • Chili sauce - 5–10 g
  • Chopped ginger - 5 g
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. spoon
  • Olive oil
  • Salt.

At the preparation stage, dilute tomato paste in a glass of water, add it and set it aside. Finely chop the garlic, herbs and also leave to wait in the wings.

Cut the chicken fillet into thin long pieces. Determine their size taking into account the cooking of the meat. Salt the chicken and fry in olive oil for 3-5 minutes. Then place on a plate for a while.

Wash the vegetables and cut into long strips. In a deep bowl, mix with chopped ginger and garlic. Next, throw it into the pan and, stirring continuously, fry for 5-6 minutes. After this, using a slotted spoon, discarding excess oil, place the vegetables in a separate bowl.

It's time for the sauce. Reduce the heat and pour the pre-diluted tomato paste into the pan. While stirring, wait until 50% of the liquid has evaporated. Add salt, chili, soy sauce and stir.

As soon as the sauce is ready, add fried meat and vegetables to it and add chopped herbs. Stir the ingredients and simmer for about 3-5 minutes. After this, serve the dish to already hungry guests.

That's all. There is nothing complicated about cooking meat in Thai. However, be careful with salt, because when using soy sauce it is easy to oversalt the dish. Recipe 3: Thai meat with bell pepper

Today we are preparing Thai meat with vegetables according to a simple recipe with photos. In Thai cuisine, as in any cuisine of Asian countries, a lot of spices, mainly of a pungent taste, are used in the preparation of meat and vegetable dishes. Chili peppers of all varieties and types, ginger, ready-made sambal paste are just some of the components that are necessarily added to the marinade or seasoned meat pieces during frying and stewing. The second feature is the speed of preparation. If the meat has been previously marinated in hot spices, the fibers soften and the meat is cooked over high heat for just a few minutes. As a rule, unleavened rice, rice noodles or vegetables in a variety of combinations are offered as a side dish for meat dishes.

  • pork (neck or back) – 400 g;
  • chili pepper or jalapeno pepper – 0.5-1 pcs (to taste);
  • ginger root – 5 cm (or 1 tbsp grated);
  • large carrots – 1 piece;
  • large onion – 1 piece;
  • sweet bell pepper – 1 piece;
  • soy sauce – 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • salt - to taste (taking into account the salinity of the sauce);
  • vegetable oil – 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • green onions (feather) - several pieces;
  • lemon – 2 slices or 0.5 pcs. small lime;
  • ground cinnamon – 0.5 teaspoon;
  • freshly ground black pepper – 1 teaspoon;
  • ground chili pepper - to taste;
  • curry seasoning – 1 teaspoon or 0.5 teaspoon curry paste;
  • boiled rice, fresh vegetables - for serving.

Thai meat can be cooked in two ways: in the first version, the meat is marinated in hot spices for at least an hour, in the second, it is immediately put into a frying pan along with the marinade. The recipe uses the first option; if you decide to cook differently, then think about what side dish the meat will be served with and prepare it in advance. Let's start by cutting the meat - cut the pork into thin slices, then into strips.

Place in a bowl and grate a large piece of fresh ginger root. Grated ginger will be a low heaped tablespoon.

Squeeze lemon or lime juice onto the meat. Stir so that the ginger and lemon get onto each piece of meat.

Season the meat with spices: freshly ground black pepper, chili, curry seasoning and, if desired, add a little ground cinnamon.

Salt to taste and add soy sauce. You can use two types of soy sauce – salty and sweetish; the taste of fried pork will be more intense.

Finely chop fresh chili or jalapeno. Instead of fresh pepper, you can coarsely crush dried chili pods or add pepper flakes. Cover the dish with the meat and leave to marinate for an hour or longer.

Before you start frying, prepare the vegetables: chop the sweet pepper and onion into thin long strips.

Grate the carrots using a Korean carrot grater or cut into very thin long strips.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the pieces of meat over high heat, stirring constantly.

At the same time, fry the onions and carrots in another frying pan until half cooked. The fire is stronger than average.

Add sweet pepper strips to the onions and carrots, add salt to the vegetables to taste. Reduce heat and bring pepper until half cooked.

Cut the green onions into large strips, add to the vegetables and simmer for another minute or two.

The meat was fried in a few minutes, a golden brown crust appeared on top, and the inside became soft. At this stage, you can mix the vegetables and meat or leave them in separate pans.

We serve Thai meat with vegetables immediately after cooking; all components of this dish should be very hot.

Recipe 4: Thai pork with curry seasoning

  • pork meat - 500 g;
  • sweet pepper - 3 pcs;
  • milk - 150 ml;
  • spicy curry - 1 tsp;
  • soy sauce - 70 - 100 ml;
  • salt - to taste;
  • sunflower oil for frying - 100 ml

Cut the meat into thin strips.

Wash the sweet pepper, remove the stalk with seeds and cut it as you like, but I cut it into strips.

Pour sunflower oil into the frying pan and wait until it heats up, and put our meat in it. Lightly fry, then simmer in its own juice.

As the liquid evaporates, add milk and set it to low gas. Simmer until the milk evaporates. These small flakes will form, but at the end of cooking they will not be visible.

Then add the pepper to the meat and simmer.

When the pepper is stewed and soft, add curry, soy sauce and salt. We simmer for a while, about 5 - 7 minutes, although a little more can be done, it all depends on how quickly the soy sauce evaporates.

The meat turns out spicy, has an interesting taste and pepper is an ideal addition. But the main thing is that the meat is not dry and not hard, but soft, although slightly elastic.

Recipe 5: Thai meat with vegetables and garlic

According to the recipe, Thai meat can be prepared from both pork and beef. I cooked Thai pork - pork goulash with sweet bell pepper. All ingredients are available in regular stores, and it’s easy and quick to prepare.

  • Pork - 600 gr;
  • Bell pepper - 1 piece;
  • Onions - 2 pcs;
  • Carrots - 1 piece;
  • Garlic - a lot, about ½ garlic head;
  • Greens - who likes what and how much, I used green onions;
  • Starch - 3-4 teaspoons;
  • Tomato paste - 2-3 tablespoons;
  • Vegetable oil for frying;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Rinse the pork tenderloin under running water. Cut the meat into thin strips.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it over high heat. Place the chopped meat in hot oil.

Fry the meat on all sides until almost done. While the meat is roasting, we will chop the vegetables.

Chop the vegetables.

Chop the garlic and herbs - I have green onions in the recipe and in the photo.

Prepare a mixture of starch and water - pour one glass of cold water into a bowl and add starch there. Stir well until smooth.

Add onions and carrots to the fried meat. Over medium heat, fry the meat and vegetables for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly so that the onion does not burn.

Now add bell pepper. Fry everything together for about 5 minutes over medium heat.

Add tomato paste and stir. We do not add or reduce the heat - simmer everything together over medium heat for a couple of minutes. Don't forget to stir.

Reduce the heat to low and pour the starch solution into the pan, stirring constantly. Mix quickly but carefully.

Add greens with garlic, salt and pepper. Stir, taste and wait until everything boils. As soon as our goulash or Thai meat has boiled, turn off the heat and cover with a lid. Now let everything sit together for about 15 minutes, and in the meantime you can have time to boil the spaghetti or pasta.

The Thai meat is ready, we invite everyone to the table. Bon appetit!

Then add 350 ml of milk (in Thailand they add coconut milk, it gives the dish that sweetness), cover with a lid and simmer until the liquid thickens a little. The milk should evaporate. When you see that the milk has evaporated, add soy sauce.

    While the meat is stewing in soy sauce, you need to prepare the bell pepper. It must be washed, the seeds removed from the core and the pepper cut into strips.

    Add chopped bell pepper to the meat. Following the pepper, you can add curry seasoning, salt and pepper. If desired, you can add finely chopped chili pepper.

    Simmer the meat with pepper until the bell pepper becomes soft and soaked in all the juices. There is no need to cover it with a lid anymore. Cooking in a wok should not take more than 7 minutes. After all the ingredients are well fried and saturated with each other’s aromas, the dish can be turned off and served. Traditionally, Thai meat is served with rice or rice noodles. It would be great if you complement this dish with a fresh vegetable salad. That's the whole step-by-step photo recipe. Preparing the dish is simple and quick! Bon appetit!
